I Am Alive is an upcoming action and survival first person video game by Ubisoft to be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and ported to Microsoft Windows. The game takes place in post-apocalyptic Chicago after a major-scale earthquake, and tells the story of a man named Adam Collins. The game was announced at the end of Ubisoft's E3 2008 conference. The plot focuses on Adam's life during the aftermath of a 10.3 magnitude earthquake, which shatters his life as a citizen, while the rest of the world is under a water crisis. The rescue team fails to arrive, Adam gets caught in chaos that gets worse by the hour. Adam sets up a refugee camp in the ruins of Chicago to attract the government's attention. The player will need to find resources, organize survivors and search for Adam's girlfriend. In the midst of Chicagos ruins, the player will have to survive for seven days.

ubi viimasel ajal suht halva mulje jätnud endast, nii et ei teagi mida sellest oodata, järjekordne toooo open world fullfill boring missions , liiga vähe informatsiooni et veel midagi otsustada, eks jääb gameplay videosid ootama, muidugi teaser tundub huvitav
developerid ikka teevad ise seda mängu, mitte ubi.
Ubisoft ise ongi selle mängu developer _________________ 17/1/2023, Scart: "Selle sajandi senise möödunud aja üks suuremaid skandaale on hetkel lahti rullumas..."

I Am Alive 'started again from scratch' as 'more extreme' title CVG
tsitaat:
Ubisoft rolled into town this week with a gameplay demonstration of disaster survival game I Am Alive - a title first announced back in 2008 (and now headed to XBLA and PSN
"What happened behind the scenes?" responds Ubisoft Shanghai's Stan Mettra when quizzed on the game's stalled development. "When you hear of games that disappear like that - especially new IP and new creations, then you know that means (probably) the game is going through several development cycles.
"It means we make the first build, 1-3 levels or a whole game sometimes, but it's still not there. We have a cool idea at the beginning, so everybody's getting excited, but then you look at the game and it's just not getting there."
This is why, Mettra explains, the game was not only transferred from original studio Darkworks - but also had a rethink that covered a new engine, city and development team.
"We basically started from scratch: with a new concept and a changed setting." He adds that the game's new position as a hardcore downloadable title means: "We can go a bit more extreme, and make more radical choices."
Stanislas Mettra told IncGamers the decision will ultimately be based on the chances of a PC version turning a profit.
"We've heard loud and clear that PC gamers are bitching about there being no version for them," the Ubisoft Shanghai dev said. "But are these people just making noise just because there's no version or because it's a game they actually want to play? Would they buy it if we made it?
"It's hard because there's so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it," he added. "Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it's not a massive cost but it's still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it's not worth it."
As we reported yesterday, I Am Alive’s creative director Stanislas Mettra’s comments have caused an uproar among PC Gamers. In an interview with IncGamers, Mettra said that his game wouldn’t be coming to the PC due to “bitching” (not in a good way) PC gamers and the levels of piracy apparently afflicting our beloved platform.
In a statement to Incgamers today, Mettra retracted his comments, putting it down to errors in translation. “I would really love to see a pc build of the game and I dont think I meant to say ‘the game won’t happen on pc,’” he said. “It’s probably an English language miscommunication (I am not native English speaker).”
Mettra goes on to say that his team are looking into the feasibility of the PC build. He finishes by saying: “Honestly, which game maker would not love his game to be playable on as many platforms and by as many people as possible?”
This either means one of two things. Mettra could be telling the truth about the mistranslation – although his original digs at PC gaming seemed too plentiful to be down to some kind of linguistic error. Or I Am Alive publishers Ubisoft gave him a bit of a telling off due to the bad publicity he’s caused, and put him on the naughty step until he issued a retraction.
One thing’s sure though – after all this kerfuffle, Ubisoft must give us I Am Alive on the PC. It’s the only way to compensate for the distress and suffering they’ve caused recently.
